Creating a home, one song at a time.
HEARTS OUT is a fun filled gala with a very special cause. It is a semi formal extravaganza showcasing some of Youth Singers of Calgary’s (YSC) extraordinary talent and raising vital funds for YSC.
Saturday, April 12. 2025, 6:00pm
The Westin, Calgary, AB
The evening’s festivities include fabulous live entertainment, auctions, a gourmet meal, a dance floor so we can break it down until bedtime, and of course drinks, for those who require a little liquid courage to properly shimmy and shake. Make it a night out and stay at The Westin Calgary with a special discounted rate for event attendees. (Check your ticket confirmation email for details.)
Funds raised through HEARTS OUT will go towards supporting youth, the Youth Singers of Calgary, the ATCO Performing Arts Centre, and YSC’s mission to create a permanent community hub for youth and the arts through the Crescendo Capital Campaign.
We want to assure our guests that if you are unable to attend the event, tickets are completely transferable.
HEARTS OUT is the only major fundraising event of the year and the money raised provides critical funds that directly benefit Youth Singers and our mission to provide an inclusive and engaged community that gives young people the opportunity to grow and express themselves through the performing arts.
HEARTS OUT is critical to stability and success of Youth Singers and the ability to nurture the young people enrolled in our programs. Your support is greatly appreciated.
The case is clear: support for the performing arts must be elevated. As a society, we need to support the mental health of our young people. The performing arts are an incredible avenue for developing resiliency and supporting mental wellness.

After seeing a need in the community, Shirley Penner created the Youth Singers in 1985. She then enlisted the help of Darlene Dusevic and Tricia Penner, and together they were able to create an opportunity for young people to express themselves onstage through music, dance, and theatre. For over 30 years, the Youth Singers of Calgary have been providing kids and teens in Calgary with more than a place to showcase and hone their musical talents; they’ve created a place for them to belong while building leadership & life skills. The program gives kids and teens from varied backgrounds the chance to grow, forge friendships, and most importantly belong, one note at a time.
To develop lifelong skills in leadership, teamwork, perseverance, and self-confidence through high-quality performing arts instruction and experiences in a safe and supported environment, where young people are given the opportunity to grow, express themselves, and develop their potential through singing, dancing, acting, and performing.
To be an innovative and inclusive performing arts company that fosters personal and artistic excellence, and elevates Calgary’s cultural fabric.
The ATCO Performing Arts Centre, formerly the Performing Arts Youth Centre, was created in 2009 by the Youth Singers. What began as a large empty warehouse space in the Highfield Industrial Park area is now a vibrant 18,000 sq. ft. centre, housing four rehearsal studios, a sound & production studio, a two-story wardrobe and props area, a set-building workshop, kitchen, 8 offices, a boardroom, and a music library.
