Alida Lowe

Director: Program, Production, Touring; Manager ONCUE; Creative Team

(She/her) Alida Lowe is an artist who works across disciplines as a producer and manager and has also trained as an actor, director, and musician. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from Rocky Mountain College and an MFA in Producing from California Institute of the Arts. Alida has been on the YSC team since 2012 and is currently Youth Singers’ Director of Program, Production, and Touring; a member of the Creative Team; and the manager of (and member in) ONCUE. She has sung in choirs since she was a child; has directed and produced numerous plays and tours, both national and regional; and has worked as an organizational consultant and freelance producer in Calgary and beyond. Prior to coming to Youth Singers, Alida was the Producing Director of Burnt Thicket Theatre, where her producing credits include She Has a Name (2011 world premiere and 2012 Canadian tour), We Are the Body (2013 world premiere), and Twinkle (2012 and 2013 regional tours). She has also worked with organizations such as Cum Vino Cantus, Calgary Arts Development, Fire Exit Theatre, the Canadian Badlands Passion Play, and the CalArts Coffeehouse Theater. Together with her husband, Colin, she is a co-founder of Estuary Creative, which provides creative services and arts support to organizations in the Calgary area.
