(He/him) Donald Jones Joined Youth Singers in 96/97. Since then Donald has been a member of SENIOR HI, ACT 3 and SHINE, a division that he played a significant role in creating. Donald has worked in staff positions with the KIDZXPRESS, JUNIOR HI, ACT 3, SHINE, and SECOND CHANTS divisions. Donald has traveled with YSC as a performer to Florida/Bahamas, Australia/New Zealand, China, New York, Europe, and South America. As a staff member Donald has accompanied JUNIOR HI to California eight times, where they brought back high standard gold awards both as a concert-choir and show-choir, and worked as a SENIOR HI/ACT 3 staff member on YSC first tour to China. Donald grew up performing in various shows across Calgary, and teaching dance and show-choir to various choirs and community groups. Donald holds a Bachelors Degree in Sociology, with a concentration in Deviance and Social Control from the University of Calgary. Donald is a lifetime online student, with plans to study for as many years as possible. In Donald’s ‘daytime’ life he has worked proudly as a Specialized Behavioural Therapist with (Formerly) University’s Milestones Program. Donald held a special responsibility as a Wholistic Therapist; responsible for creating and delivering rehabilitation programs for a Brain Injury Rehabilitation Agency (URSA). Donald also worked with the Boys and Girls Club; another special program held dear to his heart as a Youth Worker with the Transitional Independent Living Program, and the Supported Independent Living Program. Currently Donald is a Full-Time Live-In Caregiver, and reserves most of his extra free time for Youth Singers and his many other artistic passions.
Donald Jones has been a member of Calgary’s performing arts community for over two decades now. He believes the performing arts are meant to promote personal growth while inspiring people to inspire others. Donald is thankful for the opportunity to work with such talented young artists, and is excited to see their future contribution to Calgary’s thriving art’s community.
